This type of jvara (fever) is described in the Samhita in Utt. 39, 12, 82-89.
Pittaja jvara is caused due to aggravation of pitta dosha.
in addition to general symptoms and treatment of jvara given in Samhita, characteristic symptoms & treatment of this type are as beloow:
This type is characterised by high temperature, vomitting, diorrhoea, oral inflammation, perspiration, disturbed sleep, delirium, fainting, burning sensation, pungent taste in mouth, slight jaundice and vertigo.
Special treatment for this type requires use of purgatives and use of special febrifuge, pastes & gargles given in Sushrut Samhita (Utt. 39, 88-89).
