Vataja jvara (fever) in Sushruta Samhita

It is described in the Samhita in Utt. 39, 11, 40, 75-81.
Its cause is derangement of Vayu dosha.
In addition to general symptoms of jvara (fever), this type is characterized by shivering, irregular rise of temperature, dryness of the mouth, insomnia, hot & dry skin, pain in the head, chest & limbs, bad taste in mouth, constipation, colic pain.
In addition to general treatment of jvara (fever), this type is treated by portions of filtered clarified butter that have been matured for some time to be given as soon as first symptoms appear. Special ferbifuge mixtures and external medicines for the treatment of this type of jvara are givin in Sushrut Samhita (Utt. 39, 75-81).
